Beech, Cedar, Spruce and Sycamore. Our four Junior School Houses were inspired by the trees that surround our beautiful 40-acre campus. Launched after the October Break, we created the House System to foster a greater sense of community amongst our Junior School. Students share their House with a variety of year groups and staff members, encouraging them to interact with different people around the School. This allows them to build new friendships, develop their cooperative skills, and take pride in working as a team.

How the House System works

Teachers award students House Points based on good deeds and behaviour, specifically when students reflect one of our five School Values: Kindness, Curiosity, Confidence, Resilience or Integrity.

When students are awarded a House Point, they will receive a small, bespoke token created in our very own Product Design studio. For students who go above and beyond, they have the opportunity to achieve five House Points, a special star token, and a well-done note sent home to parents.

Along with daily good behaviour, students will compete in House challenges and competitions throughout the year to earn points. At the end of each term, the House with the most points will receive a fun reward. At the end of the year, the House with the most overall points will win the House Trophy.

Who is in charge of each House?

While our Head of Junior School, Mr Kane, will oversee the House System, each House will include multiple staff members as well as a teacher in charge of the entire house. Here are this year’s Heads of Houses:

Beech – Mrs Lydon
Cedar – Mr Harkins
Spruce – Mrs Roxburgh
Sycamore – Mr Watson

Above all, our houses will strengthen the sense of belonging and community that makes our school so special, giving every pupil the chance to play their part, contribute and take pride in being part of something bigger.
