Celebrating our Partnership with VTO

ESMS has been proud to work alongside VTO over the past two years through the Student Leadership Programme. This academic year, 18 Sixth Form students have been volunteering each week at Pirniehall Primary School and Granton Primary School, working alongside younger pupils to support their reading, writing and numeracy.

For the students involved, the weekly visits have become a valued part of Sixth Form life and an opportunity to contribute something meaningful beyond the school gates. Experiences like this offer an important bridge between school life and the wider world, giving students the chance to take on responsibility, build relationships in the community and see the difference their time and encouragement can make.

Katie and Emma attended the reception on behalf of the ESMS student volunteers, accompanied by Craig Macfarlane, Community and Partnerships Manager.

It was a memorable evening and a fitting celebration of an organisation whose work continues to make a real difference to children and young people across central Scotland, including through our work together in north Edinburgh.
