Pass It On: Help Stock the Thrift Shop with Uniform Donations This Summer

As we look ahead to a phased change of school uniform from the 2026/27 session, we are appealing to our wider school community, parents of former pupils and former pupils themselves, to help current families through the transition by donating uniform items to the ESMS Thrift Shop.

We are particularly in need of blazers, especially in larger sizes where demand is already exceeding supply. There are waiting lists for many sizes, so every donation really does make a difference.

This summer presents the last best chance for most of our current blazers to find a new home. By donating good condition, pre-loved uniform, you’re not only supporting sustainability, but helping other families manage the cost of uniform over the next 12 months.

Did you know? Donors can opt to receive a percentage of the sale price of their items, so there’s a chance to both give back and gain.

Where to Donate:
Uniform items can be dropped off at the Janitors’ Lodge at Stewart’s Melville College, beside the vehicle entrance on Ravelston Terrace, Monday to Friday between 10.00am and 3.00pm. Donations are also welcomed at the Thrift Shop during its regular opening hours. Please fill in the form here and put in with your donation.

Please Note – Items We Cannot Accept:
We kindly ask that you do not donate the following items, even if in good condition:

Ski jackets, salopettes, ski boots or skis
Outdoor wear (walking boots, waterproofs etc.)
Non-Stevensons branded trousers, jumpers, cardigans or shorts
White Cricket kit (no longer current)
Used boys’ shirts (unless brand new)

For full details on acceptable items or if you have any questions, please contact the Thrift Shop at esmsthrift@esms.org.uk.

Let’s give our uniforms a second life and support fellow families as we transition to the next chapter in ESMS style.
