Stevensons sell new uniforms, PE and Games kit in their Edinburgh shop. You can order online from Stevensons or visit their shop at 1-3 Elfin Square, Edinburgh EH11 3AN. We also operate a Thrift Shop offering a wide selection of good quality, second-hand uniforms as well as non-uniform clothing and equipment, such as sporting gear, walking boots and ski suits.

In the Junior School almost all books are supplied free of charge other than those which the children take with them into the Senior School. School books required for Senior School are available from several retailers, including Blackwell’s and stationery can be bought from the School shop.

Hot lunches are compulsory from Nursery to Primary 1 and optional thereafter. The annual charge is £896 for students from Nursery to S3, and between £697 and £806 for S4-S6 students. For Nursery children, if families are eligible for the Early Learning and Childcare Funding (1140 hours), there is no extra cost for a hot lunch.

We offer a bespoke coach service with routes spanning East and West Lothian and across to Fife. From Primary 4, our students can enjoy a smooth journey to and from school each day, and our parents know their children are in expert hands, inside and outside the classroom.

Each year there are a wide variety of residential and non-residential trips available to children of all ages. Most of these trips are not compulsory and costs do vary.

Individual Music Tuition costs £219.80 for ten lessons of 30 minutes.

Our wraparound care service, e-Plus, is available from £5.00 per day. Between Early Birds, After School Club and Holiday Club, you can be covered for nearly 50 weeks of the year. Childcare Vouchers or the Government backed tax free childcare scheme can be used to offset the cost of e-Plus.

Junior School wraparound care

For families joining Erskine Stewart Melville from session 2024/25 onwards: Where four or more children attend our schools (Primary 1 to Sixth Form) at the same time, a 25% reduction in fees applies to the eldest child’s account. For families whose first child joined the School prior to session 2024/25: A 25% reduction in fees will continue to apply when three or more children attend our schools at the same time (Primary 1 – Sixth Form). The discount is applied to the eldest child’s account.

A number of Educational and Charitable Trusts will consider providing fee assistance, but generally only in cases of very clear and genuine need. Eligibility and award criteria vary so it is best to contact the individual trusts directly. You may decide to take out an insurance policy that protects you against any inability to pay fees due to, for example, death, accident, illness or redundancy. These policies are available from various insurance companies and brokers. When your child joins our schools we will also offer you information about the School Fees Trust Scheme, which provides suitable cover.
